High-Voltage Contactor Kiepe HzS
Modern railway cars have many pieces of equipment driven electrically. The range of electric loads includes: heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, lighting, door controls etc..
Heating and air-conditioning equipment have the highest power
consumption. These are supplied with high voltage by a train-line from
the locomotive. This leads to a requirement for high-voltage switchgear
to perform a range of tasks. For control of heating circuits are required contactors of differing
switching frquencies depending upon the heating method employed.
Depending on the use of the vehicles equipment may be single- or
multi-voltage. Accordingly the contactors are designed for the
following power categories and rated voltages as laid down in UIC:
Convection and hot water heating equipment contactors require only
a low switching frequency, whereas air-heating and air-conditioning
require a much higher switching frequency.
1 AC 16 2/3 Hz 1000 V/1 AC 50 Hz V/DC 1500 V/DC 3000 V.
